Philosophy

My philosophy on gynecologic care is antithetical to what was pushed on me as a resident.
I believe that surgery should be a well-indicated LAST resort to a woman’s problem, not the first.
I believe that a workup should proceed from the LEAST invasive to the most invasive procedure.
I believe ALL therapeutic options should be presented to a woman, not just the ones that I can perform.
I believe that women should NOT be subjected to procedures that have little or no science to justify their use, but rely on misleading false promises. G-spot injections and laser vaginal rejuvenation readily come to mind as examples of this.

Spectrum of Gynecologic Care

We provide the whole spectrum of gynecologic care to include:

Annual Gynecologic Exam and Well Woman Exams
PAP smear
STD screening
Cancer Screening: Cervical, Breast, Ovarian, Uterine, and Colon
Vaginal conditions: Bacterial Vaginosis, Yeast, atrophic vaginitis, etc.
Vulvar conditions: genital warts, boils, etc
Pelvic conditions: pelvic pain, ovarian cysts, pelvic inflammatory disease, dyspareunia (painful sex)
Abnormal Uterine Bleeding: evaluation, workup, and treatment. We have a lot of experience in this and treating PCOS- Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome.
Comprehensive Birth Control: We do not offer Nexplanon or Essure for good reason.
Gardasil 9 HPV Vaccine
Non-judgmental Pre-Abortion and Post-Abortion Counseling and Follow-up, but not the procedure.

Basic Infertility Workup

We have experience and success in providing a rapid initial infertility workup and helping women get pregnant when they have not succeeded on their own. When indicated, we refer to two groups of Reproductive Endocrinologists with the expertise and experience to optimize your chance of getting pregnant.

Alternatives to Hysterectomy

Hysterectomy is not the answer to all of a woman's problems and may end up causing more problems such as urinary incontinence, chronic pelvic pain, dyspareunia (painful sex), vaginal prolapse, etc. We can provide the correct diagnosis and thoroughly discuss your treatment alternatives. You are the one who has to live with a wrong decision.

Fibroids

Fibroids are not always the source of your problem and it is important to fully evaluate the situation. When they are, it is nice to know the complete range of treatment options, including the ones not provided by your gynecolgoist. There are medical and nonsurgical alternatives in treating fibroids. Surgical treatment of fibroids, such as myomectomy and hysterectomy, can have severe and long-term adverse consequences. We can provide the correct diagnosis and discuss the pros and cons of all therapeutic options.

Abnormal Uterine Bleeding / PCOS

Abnormal uterine bleeding can be a sign of a more serious condition and needs to be correctly diagnosed before treatment can be started. Some treatments may hide serious pathology in menopause.

PCOS, polycystic ovarian syndrome, is a condition that can affect a woman in several ways and treatment can be complex.

We have a lot of experience and success in managing both of these common conditions.
